Things I bought in kent

So many lovely things at the antique fair but I managed to stop and limit myself to just a few Scandinavian bits and pieces. The little teacup with the succulent in was a present for my friend Elise for her birthday (it was difficult to give away because I really wanted it myself!) The other teacup and saucer (by Vicky Hageman) was a present from Henrik bought from Frank in Whitstable. I love it.

Kent

We took a little road trip all over Kent this weekend, we spent time
in lovely Whitstable, walked the White Cliffs of Dover, bought goodies at
an antique fair, wandered around Dover Castle and stayed in a lovely little hotel.
The weather was beautiful and everything was just perfect.

I loved this

I read this little book during a sunny afternoon in the garden last week
and I'd really recommend it, Lucy Knisley writes of her 5 week holiday in Paris
with her mum and its really lovely.

Up North

Went up to Liverpool to see my mum this weekend.
Spent lots of time shopping at fleamarkets and walking on the beach.
My mum has a lovely new house so spent lots of time helping her sort
it out, whilst Henrik got stressed watching his team Man Utd lose to Everton.
I put flowers on my Nans grave and introduced her to my lovely
husband.

My name is Lisa and I'm a shopaholic

I cant help myself when it come to Scandinavian design (of course Henrik is my
favourite Scandinavian design really)
As I mentioned earlier I found my heaven in the Iittala outlet shop in
Strømstad. Here is what I bought (as requested by the lovely Katrine)
I have had my eye on that jug in Skandium for months but got it half price
In Sweden! woo hoo

Cute Norwegian houses

I love all the colourful wooden houses in Norway.
The bigger yellow house is Lars and Unni's (henriks folks) place
and the little yellow cottage is ours. The other houses I just saw whilst
wandering around, they remind me of the houses at the beginning of the
film, "The Witches", then again I actually think that was filmed in Norway...

Home

We are back from Norway and have just seen Let the right one in. Such a good film. Wow. If you like scary films then this is for you. Normally Im not a huge fan of subtitles (you know, multi-tasking and all that!) but you forget they are there as there is not a huge amount of dialogue (and I was chuffed to understand most of the Swedish as its very similar to Norwegian) Go and see this film(in UK cinemas now)

Hej! from Sweden

I LOVE Sweden. Left up to me we would be moving to Stockholm in a heartbeat but its not that easy to just up and leave..... We have had lots of fun here, again the weather has been perfect for us and we spent the afternoon just lounging on the rocks eating delicious seafood,
and then to top it all off we stumbled upon an iittala outlet store where I
almost died and went to heaven at the cheap prices (I came out with a very large
bag stuffed full!)
