B&W

I feel like I'm living in a black and white film. I miss colour. There are tiny signs of spring here, the birds are singing, icicles are forming and the snow is slowly sliding from the rooftops (hopefully not on me!) making scary noises as it slides down. We have been shrouded by fog all week and I'm wondering how those poor ski jumpers at the VM are managing to ski in this weather!
Last night we had dinner with Henrik's godparents and I was able to use my new found language skills which felt fantastic and I came home feeling very proud (men så sliten!)

Bergen (part three)

The last of the Bergen pics. I cannot tell you how nice it was to be without snow, to feel rain again (and I hate rain usually!) My big dread now is the melting of all this snow, the flooding, the freezing over of the water at night time. It's stressing me out! Although we have woken this morning to a winter wonderland scene, more snow and beautiful frost on all the trees. It's now March and usually I'd be one month away from getting my summer shoes out but I doubt thats gonna happen here- I may still be in the damn wellies in May!

The journey

I loved the train we travelled to Bergen on, so old fashioned and romantic! The people on the train were so friendly and the 7.5 hours passed pretty quickly. I was befriended by a 10 yr old norwegian girl (travelling alone!) who wanted to practise her english with me so I tried talking to her in norwegian as she spoke to me in english (she then told me that not only was my norwegian accent funny but my british accent was strange also!!) She went on to tell us she was suffering from an upset tummy and every time she went off to the loo she would describe the consistency of her poo on her return!!! Who says norwegians are closed and reserved??
