Wednesday

I used the new kitchen today for something other than open sandwiches! I christened it with spiced lentil and carrot soup (its getting a bit chilly here so soup seemed to be just the ticket) and a sticky prune cake (or "Poo cake" as my friend Kim calls it, Im sure you can guess why!) We had a little wander around the local area which is fantastically green and foresty (I swear I can hear wolves howling at night but Henrik assures me thats not the case!)

First weekend

We spent most of the weekend in Oslo buying bits and pieces for our flat (we gave in and bought a sofa after sitting on the floor for 3 days, even though our furniture will arrive in a few weeks!) and enjoying these lovely last days of Summer. So far Im loving our new life! (lets see how I feel when winter arrives!) We also went back to one of our favourite swimming/picnic spots to enjoy our prawns (So far prawns are the only thing I can find in Norway that are cheaper than in England..)

The journey

It was a long journey and I really would much rather have flown to Norway but with all our stuff not arriving for another six weeks we had no choice but to pack up the car with the things we need until our furniture arrives.
