Tuesday
London is hot. Too hot for me. We need a storm.
We move to Norway 8 weeks from today, there is so much to organise that I can barely think straight.....
Cathrineholm
Im always on the look out for Cathrineholm goodies so you can imagine how thrilled I was when I spotted (and snapped up) this beauty at a car boot sale yesterday for 50p!!!! 50 friggin' pence!!!
** The top collage is not mine, its from flickr but the user seems to no longer exist**
Breakfast,lunch and dinner
Grilled bacon in Challah rolls for breakfast, carrot cous cous with salad and chicken tangine for lunch and a plate of crispbreads with various toppings for dinner. Its so hot that all I want is cold crispy food and lots of iced tea (I made a lovely one with 2 tea bags fresh mint leaves and the juice of an orange, so refreshing)
This evening
Fan on, iced coffee,a cold salad and more football.
(I am officially over the world cup now. Henrik never moves off the sofa, except when he needs more beer, then when the football finishes he starts watching the tennis!)
Taste of London
I loved our little trip to Taste of London, free champagne, vodka and Swedish cider.
We ate delicious mini lamb cutlets with mint yogurt, fish and chips and got tons of free goodies,
plus we watched Heston Blumenthal doing his thing. Thanks Jess for the lovely afternoon!
This morning
I have been trying so hard not to spend any money, what with our upcoming move to Norway (We are taking everything we own, and I own a lot !) and forking out for new car tyres, the car M.O.T which we failed because of the tyres,so I felt a tiny bit guilty when I treated myself to this bird print dress this morning. This afternoon I'm leaving Henrik to his beer, sofa and football and heading off to A taste of London with the lovely Jessica.
Saturday
World cup fever has gripped Henrik so that's what we did yesterday.... Three football matches and not much else!
Bits of the weekend
Still trying not to spend any money in the run-up to our mammoth Norway move (Why do you always see lots of nice things to buy when you are skint?!) but did give in to a new pair of sandals and some Paumes books.I also sorted out all the prints I need to get frames for (more money I dont have!) Back to work tomorrow after a relaxing week off., only seven weeks now til the end of term, followed by a six week holiday and our move to Norway! Argh!
Spitalfields
Yesterday I went for a wander around Spitalfields Market (Thursday is antiques day) with my lovely friend Jessica (Hi Jess!) We caught up on all our gossip, walked and shopped til my feet were blistered! We also tried out the new Overground line on the tube which was very exciting for Jessica as it means she is now well connected from her neck of the woods to the rest of London (nice, new clean trains too, with air con! Heaven!)
