Ready to go!

Our lives are all packed up into 64 boxes and the removal men arrive tomorrow morning.
Im anxious but suprisingly calm (I usually turn into a basket case when moving house) and
now feeling very excited about our new life. Broadband is turned off tomorrow so that is it from
me for a while...... See you in Norway!!

Tuesday

Packing is now full throttle! Henrik has done all the heavy work Whilst I did the easier task of bubble wrapping all our breakables (by breakables I mean all my e-bay,fleamarket,car boot sale finds) I really must stop buying stuff as I've got through 40 metres of bubblewrap today alone!

Last week

Last week and the weekend have been so busy, catching up with friends, for coffee, lunch, dinner, a walk, shopping, saying goodbye etc has left me with little energy to pack boxes! I said goodbye to my mum yesterday which was very tearful but I have no doubts she will visit very soon.

If only I could take them with me.....

My floors, beautiful herringbone which make up for the fact that there is loud traffic roaring past our flat 24/7! I will miss them and may never have floors like this again......
Packing up is now in full swing. The ferry to Denmark is booked and it's now feeling very real!!
We are moving to Norway!!! Argh!!!

Peaches galore

I was over-run with ripe peaches so I whipped up this delicious peach cobbler this afternoon and made one for a friend too (who was happier than usual to see me as I arrived with pudding!)
p.s I used brown sugar instead of white and kept the skin on the peaches and it was divine!

This weekend

This weekend has been a bit manic as its our last weekend in London to get stuff done (as we will be away next weekend and the weekend after we start our long drive to Norway!) Trips to the dump, shopping for winter clothes (Norway is the most expensive country ever, in my opinion, so we are stocking up on stuff)dropping off stuff to the charity shop, visiting friends, eating a very unhealthy plate of egg and chips, patching up all the holes in the walls of our flat but also finding the time to eat at my favourite Lebanese restaurant Maroush.
I have been worrying so much about our move this week that I've now run out of things to worry about!

Bits of our holiday

The weather was not kind to us apart from the last day and the fjord was full of jellyfish which I ignored until I met with a swarm of the little buggers and was stung all over my body (seeing as Im allergic to many things I presumed I would react badly to jellyfish stings so retreated to our cottage to die a slow and painful death which thankfully didnt happen! Melodramatic? Moi?) We ate delicious food, ice cream with licorice sprinkles, went out on the boat and queued in many government offices in Olso in an attempt to turn me into an immigrant! Wahey!!

Nesøya

Henrik and I spent our two year wedding anniversary on Nesøya, eating fresh prawns and swimming in the fjord. We dont need anything fancy!

We got it!

That cute house I posted about last week (we actually had e mailed and been told it had been taken) is our new home!! Luckily for us it came back on the market and we now have keys and have started moving a few things in. That little red building is for our storage and the view is the one from the end of our new street (Oslo is right behind the hill!) Of course we dont have the whole house (Henrik is not rockerfella after all!) but we do have a cute little flat within the house, a huge garden and fir trees!
